SM Baughns
Can you believe it? SM Baughns sounds like a made-up
name doesn’t it. Well, I have been flowing around her
for years and I can attest to the fact she is real—
peculiar, but real.
Sure, she writes articles, blog copy, bits of story,
poetry not-fit-for-public consumption, but her true claim
to fame stems from her partnership with her 8-year-old
niece. We are talking stories featuring Candyland
characters, crayoning truly unnecessary sequels to
innocent animated films, and fairy tales which begin by
climbing in the oven only to emerge in a winter
wonderland.
Baughns is a curious character. Her favorite actors are
Bruce Willis and John Wayne. Though she reads widely,
she actually cheats by listening to 99% on CD.
The one joke she easily recalls: “What is smaller than a
tiny weenie fly?” “A fly’s tiny weenie.”
Awesome family, stellar friends, pathetic with a capital
PATH love life.
Kind to small children and pets when someone is
looking.
Budding chef, decent photographer with her sister’s
camera and one hideous housekeeper [just ask her last
roommate… or her mom].
On her desk, in a wine carafe, lives her pet indigo and
magenta Japanese Fighting fish, Puppy. Need I say
more?
Most humans say they want to be the fly on the wall to
better stick their nose in other people’s business. Me, I
do my best work as air – better access and longer shelf
life.
